I see so many people in here complaining and moaning about how this guy is nothing special. Please cut the shit. Seeing stuff like this reinstated my "want" to keep on working on my digital art. If what this guy has done doesn't even spark any kind of positive emotion in your head then I believe that you sir(s) should shove a carrot in your ass. Now that I have vented that little bit, I think it would be awesome if more Pixel Artists did video projects like this guy has done. I would love to see the process all of you talented Artists go through. Thanks for the read.

Either way, to get something done, like that, in Paint, must take a fair bit of skill.

We must consider that he could be using a real picture as a reference...
That makes all of the light, shadows and even colors already resolved by the photo. He then just followed the right lines and voila =P

Well ceddo, I hope you realize the video isn't realtime. He had time to place the fill tool over the pixels.

That is amazing, especially when he does things like fill up an area that's very thin and has contour lines around it, he just drives straight through, doesn't miss a pixel, and doesn't go over the contour lines either.

@silent sniper, Not everyone uses mspaint since thats a PC thing, we mac users use other proggies. many PC users use photoshop too.

Also, the picture was made by the same person who drew the car, he calls himself the pixel god on his website but shows no pixelart whatsoever. It's like calling yourself the graphite god just because you can draw well.

Paint - you could do anything with primitive tools and huge amounts of time - but why? This clip to me is like digging a hole with bare hands when you could as well make a shovel and dig that hole 10x faster and end up with the job done better, faster and easier...

o yes i forgot to post this earlier... when drawing in Paint, it is just like normal drawing except when you are using dithering and AA, and crap like that. i would just call that a 'skilled' okekai (cant spell it)

The guy is obviously skilled, but he could do the same thing in less time in any other paint programs. Like all that time he spent erasing the grey pixels after making the black outline would have taken no time using the stencil feature in Promotion or even any decent paint program from the 90's. Not to mention the lack for keyboard shortcuts... well at least that's his time he's wasting :)

He basically does the same things as used commonly in vector gfx and of course it isn't even true pixelart, but the dude gets respect for having the cojones to pull it all off in MS Paint :D even if he used a tablet.
I ain't going to switch from Photoshop anytime soon tho :D

Why is everyone so opposed to MSPaint?
It looks pretty damn good to me. Everything I do is in MSPaint, infact I'm completely uncomfortable using any other application. But then again - As to whether or not my stuff is good or whatever is a matter of opinion.

Haha, yes, the curve tool is very underrated, but yeah, Pixeljoint eats stuff like this for breakfast. Nothing utterly amazing.

This was kind of cool, though I'm more interested in how long the guy took in reality. I think we're better off checking out The B.O.B.'s pixel gallery for impressive MS Paint works, though.

This only proves that you can make some decent art with MS Paint. If you are on a tight budget, this is nice to know.
