The problem is that what they seek to do is have like a two-lane highway. One for big companies that feed the info faster for their customers. The other, much slower, for evrything else. Yes, with companies being global it would affect everyone.

It would certainly set precedent. I am by no means suggesting that the world will blindly follow the U.S. congresses decisions, however if such a bill were to be passed, the world will have taken a grim step in what I believe to be the wrong direction.

Well, not really? Assuming that ISPs in other countries don't suddenly decide to screw over THEIR customers, I don't think it will be a huge difference for them.

What I've noticed here, and find is an important point, is the fact that this is decided by a congress in the US. Yet, this is something that is going to have an effect on the entire world. Regardless of who invented the net or who is the larges userbase, non-american internet users are going to be affected as the net is a world wide chanel.

Ugh... What people will do for money.

They just keep trying and will succeed if nothing is done about it. They not only want to control the cost but the speed at which different different people connect.
