Hi everyone,
I'm a programmer working on a highly dynamic and professional iOS/Android game. The game is still in it's very early stages, but the biggest hurdle is over (making the core tile engine), and it's becoming clear now that the game has huge potential. The basic concept of the game is that you control a ball-shaped character/entity of some sort, which can be launched around the level (using Angry Bird controls). There will be hundreds of different tile types, each with a different function. Gravity plays a big role in this game, if you shoot the ball towards a "Gravity Curve", the level flips and suddenly gravity is facing the wall instead. Here's a small video of game-play: http://blazedgames.com/example.swf.html (the real thing is much smoother) A large majority of the game concept still needs brainstorming; I'm just a coder who's put together a nifty tile engine, and need somebody to add some substance and creativity into the game, in the form of eye-catching and unique tile art. Some of tiles will be animated, so knowing how to animate will be a huge plus. The long term plan for this game is to have an Online Mode, where people can use a highly customizable Level Designer, to designer their own levels and upload them to a server. Each level will have a high-score value, attached to a ghost-replay. In other words, you can go on your iPhone/iPad/Android, design a level, upload it at the touch of a button, and have hundreds of people play the level you made, all trying to beat each-others ghosts/high-scores. The concept is similar to TrackMania, for those of you who have played it, but making levels should be faster and more straight-forward. This will be a long term project I reckon (10-20 months, depending on how things go), but will be a very fun and rewarding experience for anyone who takes part. The services I'm looking for: > Someone with lots of experience with tile design to mock up designs at my request. Has to be willing to mock up the same tile several times if necessary, until I'm happy with it. No rush however, working with me should be fairly low demand, considering the timescale of the project. I highly value quality over speed. > Needs to be fairly technically minded. Due to the nature of the game, I'm going to need all sorts of tiles designing, which have to look right next to each other, here's an example of the template tiles you'll be asked to work on: http://blazedgames.com/tiles.png (each tile is 200x200) As for payment, I can't really give any figures. Depending on the quality of the art, the number of tiles made, and the level of professionalism, the price will vary greatly, but I'll make sure it's a reasonable amount.
