I jumped ahead of other worthy poll suggestions because I just gotta know if other gamers are as jazzed as I am about the upcoming Wii release.

I used to be all over it, but 60 bucks for a controller is harsh. I've got friends that want to play with me. :-(

i just got a ds, and man is that thing slick, ok well i bought it for my wife for her birthday, and she hasnt really let me touch it(the woman who wouldnt play games not has 3 ds games in 2 days) so i bet the wii will be pretty sweet, i am playing valkyrie profile on my psp right now, they do some interesting things mixing 3d type environments with 2d art. i just hope that nintendo remembers that 2d games are just as fun as 3d and keeps the support up for them!-Dustin

@Pie: Amazon briefly had them up for preorder, but apparently demand was too great and they had to check with Nintendo to make sure they could fill all the orders. |

I'm excited about it - I'm not much of a console gamer, since I find traditional game controls difficult for me, so this looks pretty cool. I'll definetely be getting one, but I'm going to wait till the price comes down and there's a decent selection of games.

I'll definitely get one once there are more games to choose from. Perhaps I'll add it to my Christmas list for Santa? :) Edited by Atooi - 21 September 2006 at 9:59am |

Or maybe you should just tell your friends to get their own. I'unno. |

Lawl, it's not the Wii release.
It's the WIIlease. xD But, seriously, I'll probably get one. Sounds much more promising than PS3, and more entertaining than anything X-Box can throw out. |

I look forward to the shop-keeper releasing his warm wii into my hands, with such flowing velocity and power. Then soon, in the corner of my room, the wii will be on my carpet, and I might accidentally slip up on the wii and land face-first into the wii and taste it. Sometimes the wii will be in my bed and I shall wake up in the morning to smell the freshness of the wii. The wii is sterile and can be used as anti-septic in emergency situations.

The new Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii actually doesn't require you to wave around your controller... just conventional button mashing. I can see myself accidentally flinging the controller through my tv screen. It looks neat but is there more focus on the controller rather than the game library. I know there won't be many if any shmups for it which is sad. I just hopw the Wiimote isn't another Mattel Power Glove. (Google that for the younglings here)

I'm still not sure: Wii or 360, main problem is I can't afford both. Oh well, i'll probably get a Wii.

I pre-ordered it a good while ago but I'm not allowed to play it until Christmas. :/
It's not that I can't afford it but I'll enjoy it so much more if I wait, even though I want it so much. |

I'll see if the controllers any good. It looks like it might be good but i feel the controller might be a bit slow in reacting to fast movements like the arcade time crisis

I tried out my cousins wii. its pretty cool. the Wii sports graphics are lacking but its a free game so... The graphics arent great but it has 1 big game advantage. The mistake nintendo made for gamecube and nintendo ds was they didn't make the games easy to program, so outside companies didnt make very many, if any. Nintendo made the Wii easy to program so there will be alot of outside companies designing games. yay big selections. :)

To my understanding, the Gamecube was notoriously more easy to program compared to it's rivals at the time.

Gamecube was good, i agree, but it lacked good graphics, and have you noticed that most games on gamecube are child based, there arnt many shooting games, etc, its all mario and sonic....

OMG. Wiis.
I started work @ EB Games this week, so far my first couple of days has been... Customer: Do you have any Wii's in stock? Me: Nooope. Customer: When are you getting some in? Me: Uh. Sometime before Christmas...hopefully. Customer: Can I reserve one? Me: Nuh uh. Customer: Then how the hell do I get one? Me: You get lucky. *smirks* Customer: *stalks away* Me: *giggles* *then plays on the demo Wii in the store* Phone calls are usually the same too. Wii? Wii? Wii!? WIIIIII!!!!!!!!!! Oh. And PS3's, too. It's craaazy. I'm buying one waaay after Christmas and boxing day, when the price drops and they become a regular commodity. :3 |

For me it's a hell yeah! *nods*
I'll be waiting until the price drops, I'll also be on the lookout for people that got one for Christmas but decided they didn't like it so I can buy from them for a mega low price. Of course, I'm just dreaming. How could someone not like the Wii? mmm, the new Zelda looks tasty. (not in that way :P) |

I think I might wait until next year to get one because 1) that's when a lot of good games are out and 2) the different colour Wiis should be out by then and I want a Lime one. Plus, chances are all the shops will have supply shortages for a while here and I can't be bothered with all the hassle.
