CHALLENGE: Plants have feelings too!

Aren't you tired of all those vegetarians eating those poor veggies, and fruits. "How many plants had to die for your salad, you heartless bastards!!!"

This challenge consists of casting life into any plant of your choice. The plant chosen can be depicted as some sort of humanoid, or alien-esque creature. The point is to depict them filled with as much emotion as a human is capable of (yes, it is known that plants are alive, just not in the common man's eyes), with an attached emotion or sub-emotion, such as anger, sadness, humor, confusion, etc....

Example: Pixel a Rose who resembles a woman that is dancing (excitement, romance), a giant redwood tree-beast/barbarian that terrorizes lands (anger), or a Bonsai Tree who is meditating over a sunset (tranquility, calmness), etc...

Rules:
  • Colors: No restrictions.
  • Canvas Size: 200 x 200 max.
  • Transparency: allowed (www.iaza.com or giffy.com is your friend, children)
  • Animation: If you're a glutton for pain, then sure, It's allowed.
  • Can be a single character, or character in a scene, as long as the plant creature is the focus of attention.
  • There must be a banner, sign, or caption anywhere in the piece that indicates the feeling the plant is emoting.
  • Fruits and vegetables can't be used by themselves as the centerpiece. However the plant or tree from which they derive from can.
  • Plants must be an actual plant of this planet,  with species in the description (any real life plant or shrubbery is fair game.). NO fictional crap.

Tips: Wikipedia.org is a good reference.

With plants it means ANY kind of plant.
Mushrooms aren't technically plants, by the way.

Primula auricula.  Heavy wip, but any thoughts or crits are welcome!

I think I'll have to do the right leaf again, don't like it too much myself right now.  Problem with the outlines as well, and no idea how to let a caption fit in, but I might still have some space to place one of the little cards on a stick with the plant's info and all - only replacing it with the emotion, which I think will be somewhere inbetween boredom and sadness. And they come in all kinds of colours, don't let the wiki page trick you

edit @Mindsreturn: I might be the only one to mistake the cloud for something shooting out of the flower's eye at first, but it really distracted me from the flower itself for a moment

@Prozone, I like the picture, but that right leaf looks all bumpy, is it supposed to be that way?

Uh, I AA'd my entry, in case anyone wanted to see the new one.

I wonder how hard it would be to make vegetables convey a whole gamut of emotions without ever resorting to giving them faces or any human feature other than the emotion. Would that even be possible? Like, sort of mimic emotive gestures with their shapes or something. The only thing I could imagine there would be like, love, with two flowers (probably roses) entwined as if they were kissing.

It's possible Frankie. The rules don't state it has to mimic human form, just emotion. If you can find a way to make the plant show some sort of emotion, then have at it, boss.
On a similar note, would be kinda' romantic, to see Vines intertwine as well for "love." Again, with plants, and a bit of imagination, the possibilities are endless.

*btw, no veggies or fruits. must be of the Plantae kingdom: Stitchy gets in by technicality with the carrot being it's own plant.

uhm, i was having an idea, but i'm not sure if the emotion is really an emotion... (confusing, isn't it? :) )

the emotion i wanted to use: doubt (or to be in doubt)

but, i'm dutch and my english is NOT good, is that a emotion? :)

(i'm stupid, i've already made a little WIP, this one:
