I've been working on a piece of art for a game I'm working on, and I figure it could use some critique. I think it could use some work as far as color choice, and any other tips or feedback would be really helpful.

I've done a little work on it. It's zoomed 2x because that'll be how the game scales it.
This is supposed to be the intro of the game (and also character customization). Basically it's you biking to your first day of work at a canvassing organization. The game is about canvassing. I wanted to have a contrast between the forest on one side and the town on the other, as well as going for a kind of chilly feeling. I haven't done all the AA yet but I want to wait until it's a little more final. |

the game would be awesome, i have some suggestions for the game:
make the character get customed while paddling, once done, the bike will move away from the screen and to the canvassing organization |

Did I see this project on Kickstarter, or am I going crazy?
The light source, in this case the sun, will play a large role on the color of the shading. Early in the morning, the sun generally has a distinct orange color, which you can see in the edit below. Do some Google searches on sunrises and you will see what I mean. 
*Edit: I also made the color of the grass darker, as it wouldn't be that bright early in the morning.* I made this edit by removing one color, and adding a different one in it's place. Also, take my palette choice with a grain of salt, as it's not really one of my strong points. There are a large number of other members here that would be able to give you much better advice in that field. Also, it would be best to continue uploading the image in it's standard view to make it easier for people to do edits. This forum has built in features that will zoom on an image if it's clicked. If you want people to see a zoomed version, just mention it in the post. |
