Heya, I've been pixeling profile pics for some classes and need some help on improving them.
Manslayer: about complete. (going to have to replace the transparent blood)

Beast tamer: still need to finish the wolf and the whip.

And then to the point, any advice on how to improve these?
Thanks.

Small foot in both ...

Rider with short legs, try to bend them as if she rides a bicycle on the trunk low,
she has excellent hands, I really like,
but it should be more involved in fitness,
and go to a surgeon faces.
Girl and unadorned is nonsense,
though it dhows on the rim of beautiful hair or what ever Baubles.
She looks like a companion Zena :)

Barbarian has a great horns on the head,
but I would have done a helmet with a slot, a helmet, and so turns a blind eye, and another,
plus the hair sticking out,
maybe it's very uncomfortable and painful to walk in this way through the forest from one tree to another - knocked many cones :D
You can add the clasp on his cloak,
Blood on the sword looks too uniform - it is carefully painted with a brush.
His cloak may be sent to the other side - it will improve the composition.

I can show red lines illustrate the fact that I do not like :)

Thanks, some of the advices helped alot, I'll call it quits for today.
Heres the progress so far:

I'm not sure about how to change the face really. I'm fine with it myself, but if anyone got any tips on how to make it better I'd be happy to listen.
I'll most probrally do the whip and the wolf tomorrow.

in my opinion,

the wolf would have to be much larger for her to ride side-saddle like that, there just wouldn't be enough surface for her to balance on. even when women would ride side-saddle most would need to have some kind of support. You could prob sit on a persons back this way due to the flat nature of the human back but a wolfs back is much like a dogs. Gray wolf is the largest species I believe, "with males averaging 95–100 lbs, and females 80–85 lbs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_wolf#cite_note-1 - - [2] It is similar in general appearance and proportions to a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_shepherd - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_wolf#cite_note-z124-2 - - [3] or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sled_dog -

If you are going for more fantasy, I would suggest the wolf to be much larger. Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Mononoke - Mononoke , the wolves in that film are very large and she does ride on one (not side saddle).

I understand you have a vision of what you want to make but it will read so much better for the viewer and you will prob be very happy with your work.

Thanks for the pointers.
I guess I should have told that I'm making these for a game, and she doesn't really ride the wolf in the game. She's just posing for the profile picture.

boobs are in a frontal perspective, while body is roughly at 3/4ths. The gravity-defying hair is a little weird, a ponytail that size would be pretty heavy, so I expect she's near a tornado. forearms are pretty stubby, the figure in general is sort of squat and not that feminine. make sure you're using a mirror or photograph to match your anatomy against.

The pony tail looks like it is coming off the side of her head. Also, her foot placement looks really awkward, and doesn't seem to follow your sketch. I'll try and make a quick edit later this evening when I am home.
