Dennis @ 8/13/2009 1:58:23 AM commented on Big Bird I think the balance can be easily fixed by moving the leg that he's kneeling on to the left by a pixel or two.
Dennis @ 7/14/2009 12:44:05 PM commented on Big Bird I'm in the camp of those who say art is the short form of artificial, as in, 'not-given', created by a conscious living entity from the stuff that was already there and everything that was created out of it before. But that would mean, that literally almost everything that was ever created in that way is art, every hammer, every nail, every pick and spade, computer processors, every house ever built, every garden ever planted, etc... even life itself would be art. So what seperates created stuff of the one kind from the created stuff of the other kind that we like to refer to as art? Is it the purpose it was made for? Is it important who created it? Is it only art if it requires skill and consciously taken decisions to make it?
Dennis @ 7/12/2009 1:17:04 PM commented on mega mesnch Perhaps the image you were thinking of was something by ptoing? Maybe his MSX Robots or The Pink Primate? Goog job anyway and I too thought it was supposed to be Batman from the preview.
Dennis @ 7/6/2009 11:19:15 AM commented on The Mysterious Glowjob Yay, thanks everyone.
Dennis @ 6/30/2009 11:03:59 AM commented on Big Bird Well then, stop bitchin' about it, pick one thing and start practicing. Or just doodle around without worrying about the results.
Dennis @ 6/29/2009 1:57:44 PM commented on Big Bird Brainfart. (inspired by this weeks challenge)
Dennis @ 6/28/2009 12:33:05 AM commented on Big Bird I like the idea for a "The First PixelPusher" challenge. Should be interesting to see, everyone can pick someone who he thinks was the first and pixel a shrine to worship that person. :) Or make it more generic and pick any person that was important in computer(graphics) history.
Dennis @ 6/25/2009 9:21:35 AM commented on Big Bird I think the first pixelpusher will remain a mystery. What would we do if we knew his/her name? Would we build/pixel our own shrines and worship him/her like a god? :)
Dennis @ 6/24/2009 11:52:16 AM commented on Big Bird Well, I don't have a name for the first pixelpusher either but I think it's safe to say it was not Susan Kare, because the time she designed the Icons for Apple was already ten years after the Xerox Alto computer and the SuperPaint system had been developed and used at Xerox PARC.

Dennis @ 6/23/2009 10:54:23 AM commented on Big Bird So, who was it? Was it Damon Rarey, using Superpaint or was there some raster image editor/artist even before that?
Dennis @ 6/22/2009 12:50:45 PM commented on Big Bird The first ever pixel pusher hm, depends on whether we're talking about pixels that need electricity to work or whether that also includes everything that works without power. In case of e-pixels, I'd say Max Dieckmann and Gustav Glage, as they were the first ones to use a Braun-Tube (aka CRT) to display letters.
Dennis @ 5/21/2009 11:05:37 PM commented on Big Bird Stop! Education-Time: What I was referring to as 'beerday' yesterday was not actually the official beerday. Yesterday was a religious holiday here (The Ascension Of Jesus), also known as fathers day. It has become a tradition over the years for men to gather up on that day and to stroll around with a handcart full of all kinds of booze with the goal to drink and have fun. The real beer day is a US Navy tradition and there's also an international beer day.
Dennis @ 5/21/2009 11:09:58 AM commented on Big Bird hehe, happy beerday tomic and happy birthday to everyone else forever and always %)
Dennis @ 4/5/2009 6:52:54 AM commented on Big Bird Good, I'll follow with full frontal accusation, accompanied by a hint for readers. Has anyone told ptoing yet?
Dennis @ 4/5/2009 6:21:58 AM commented on Big Bird Wow, is there a way to report art theft on deviant art?

Dennis @ 3/10/2009 1:31:13 AM commented on The Hand "too hard"? If it is too hard, you need more practice. Don't be a lazy slacker and put more effort into your work, like you did with the Misterious Mage.
