The shading on the pants looks terrible. The bottom of the jacket looks bad, too. I think the key and hands are the best parts.

I'm not very fond of the shadow around the lips, but I love the way the claws on the ground look. Reminds me of Metroids. (Actually, the ones on the right seem a little oddly shaped.)

I really like the inside of the jellyfish, the ship, and the mine.

I think that's the biggest animated piece I've ever seen, and it's pretty good looking.

32,767, in fact! I had rated the entire gallery before my first year here was up, and I've been keeping up with all the new entries since then. (I even had some time to review old goodies and up my ratings since I now have 7 rating bubbles.)

Lollige and I have both hit the maximum number of ratings, it seems. Curse you, signed 16-bit integers!

I love the explosions so much, and the ships are pretty and creative, too. Also, I just realized a minute ago...the smaller version of the red ship is very reminiscent of Samus's ship in Metroid Fusion. That's so cool, and somehow I don't think it was on purpose.

(This ship: media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/10484/533382-samus_s_metroid_fusion_gunship_super.png )

You're right, Fool. Maybe I'll replace a background layer or two with a bunch of connected sprites in the game so that I actually have a free layer with which to make some parallax stars.

I thought "Fool!" when I saw it, too. Very nice job. :D

The primary function of the nebula is actually a sort of damaging environmental hazard, akin to acid/lava in the Metroid games. The ship takes damage if it flies through it, unless it gets an upgrade that allows it to withstand extreme heat.

Sure, sure, the nebula will look a little strange moving as quickly as the rest of the background and yet affecting the ship...but who ever said games had to be realistic?

Could use some shading and a font that you made. (I think the font alone disqualifies it from the gallery, based on past experience.) It's fine line art, though.

I see some sort of dark gray liquid climbing up the pyramids. Perhaps you should try a significantly brighter palette for the ice, like this: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/42277.htm

Counting your colors accurately is quite easy: http://dpmm.110mb.com/CKinesis/ColorCounter.html says there are 15.

Looks good. "9-bit color" would be 257 to 512 colors, though...this could be 5-bit, ie. 17 to 32 colors. You're probably thinking of a gaming console's processor, ie. the NES is 8-bit, but its graphics are 2-bit.

Someone's gonna comment on the non-pixel-art font.

I agree with Lollige.

Yeah... It partly depends on your monitor, but yeah. Curse me for getting a black trench coat in the first place. :P (Thanks.)

Blot out the parts that aren't pixel art. That's a simple solution, right?

I've had myself remade in female form quite a few times already--I guess it's about time I make a sprite version too!
