But why in gray levels? Old school style?
it's a bit hard to see, the contrast is too low. It's a pity coz' they're so CUTE.
You did the heroes, then the orcs, now you could do the NPC characters, like noble male vilager, noble female vilager, farmer, king, queen etc...
. The palette is GREAT, and the scene is interesting (a brave knight thinking about his princess). I like the shininess very much, and the desert-like background makes the mood warm. 5 stars + favorited 
Shading... more shading....... to give us a feeling of depth
, with all the details and stuff..... Impressive preview 
, maybe it's the overall look and standing position of the character that aren't that exciting....
