Adarias @ 11/18/2009 1:23:59 PM commented on Plane they look a tad bit like they are rolling on an invisible tabletop rather than flying, but this is pretty sweet stuff :).
Adarias @ 11/8/2009 9:17:39 AM commented on Walter There is no diagonal, the game considers these guys as facing straight left-right. The turn is to make them more informative and less rigid, similar to how most sidescollers work. you can find a similar stance to most characters in chrono trigger.
Adarias @ 11/4/2009 8:55:43 PM commented on small house pretty great :D
Adarias @ 11/4/2009 11:56:01 AM commented on game pretty great, especially in the individual pieces.....although it's a bit patchwork. some clear but disparate inspirational sources here :P.
Adarias @ 11/3/2009 5:49:45 PM commented on Walter cap is actually mirrored in the frontways and right-facing, not the two sides, the reason because if the cap were worn further sideways in the right frame it would cover the eyes is an ugly fashion. made a few small tweaks to make the side views morew clearly side views, do the still frames help show how things go?
It's just typical 4 directions, the two sides are just turned slightly to give us more information and to make things seem less static/fixed towards the cardinal points. I may have overshot?
Adarias @ 10/11/2009 12:10:16 PM commented on Hulk is he playing rock paper scissors with me? lol
Adarias @ 10/5/2009 10:25:21 AM commented on GBA Mockup Yeah, it's actually slightly older than the one on the left I think but I found it on an old hard drive and felt like posting :)
Adarias @ 10/4/2009 10:59:12 AM commented on Shrine oh good call, and thanks for pointing me towards a great looking game that I hadn't heard of! <3 Have I mentioned that your art has improved about 12000 times since joining here? Even in the last few months. it's inspiring to see such rapid growth.
Adarias @ 10/3/2009 8:18:37 AM commented on Shrine nice but be sure to credit the Sowrd of Mana inspiration for colors and some forms
Adarias @ 9/20/2009 10:22:52 AM commented on Chaos Space Kirby i feel like chaos have fangs going down inside the mouth, orks have tusks pointing up outside the mouth...
Adarias @ 9/14/2009 5:59:57 PM commented on Atran yayyyyyyyy
this made me superhappy
Adarias @ 9/10/2009 6:46:25 PM commented on lingerie it's funny, the mirror should not actually distort the forms (only the angle they are seen from) but the squashed image works pretty well :D
Adarias @ 9/7/2009 4:33:33 PM commented on Clockwork Rian - intro image 1 does fool typically work so small, and with pure saturated color...? could be interesting, looks like a size i could do if school offers me the time. Too bad my challenge didn't get used before autumn...didn't realize how long the que was :P. Buuut I guess maybe this way a summer-themed comp might be a pleasant reminder as we get colder :P.
Adarias @ 8/28/2009 6:51:56 AM commented on The Price of Victory I like how, even though they were all killed, every man on the battlefield made sure to point his weapon stright up :P
Adarias @ 8/23/2009 10:37:16 AM commented on Mario Characters I like the lower set actually in that the faces seem a lot better for gameplay (the 3/4ths faces always just look disconnected to me), but overall these are pretty spiff :D.
Adarias @ 8/22/2009 3:05:55 PM commented on Big Bird thanks Jal, i got a link in one message which probably did it. those look like repixelled traces to me, in fewer colors (or possibly reduction)....the rat is what clues me in. it's a very memorable rat face. maybe not though, it's been a long time
Adarias @ 8/22/2009 11:07:25 AM commented on Big Bird my delete messages button is hidden outside the window. anyone else have this? DA does not keep up with any kind of quality control or copyright control and that detracts from the community as a whole. however that doesn't mean the community should be thrown out or locked down. my friend caroline and i do play a game where we try to find the worst drawings ever on DA. It doesn't take very long. Lots of skewed furries in colored pencil 'scanned' with a webcam and saved as jpeg. that doesn't help either but it's funny :P.
Adarias @ 8/21/2009 8:59:34 AM commented on Doll 8 macrophaly is a gross overstatement I think, or more like it applies to real humans with disproportioned heads and not cartoon humans with exaggerated (but otherwise healthy) proportions. Illustration has a lot more leeway before you can start throwing around medical terms, because the eye accepts exaggerations as normal within the context of the piece :P. the lack of legs bug me because I don't think that the form of the dress is allowing for them here, and that's more distracting than any proportional thing. It's gorgeous otherwise.
Adarias @ 8/20/2009 9:44:27 AM commented on Spirit of Iris face reminds me a bit of carmen san diego
Adarias @ 8/19/2009 5:12:34 PM commented on Partisan Swords Huh? No, please do not download/distribute my work except for educational purposes.
Adarias @ 8/17/2009 11:50:13 AM commented on Cadillac what about instruments that are...not really insruments? (dub step...?)
Adarias @ 8/16/2009 6:45:33 PM commented on Victory and Defeat What's he shooting at? it's like that one little tank just blew up the city with 1 shot :P.
Adarias @ 8/16/2009 6:41:13 PM commented on The Final Battle I actually love the boss and the scylla-like base, actually i love everything but the character ^_^
Adarias @ 8/14/2009 1:00:35 PM commented on Taxi hmmm, to me this feels a bit like combining the limitations of pixel art with the limitations of 3d animation rather than the strangths of either. 2d isn't about looking like a clean rendering and 3d isn't about framecount, so why take those two aspects and leave out what makes either beautiful?
Adarias @ 8/12/2009 2:14:40 PM commented on Truck are we not posting who came up with the challenges anymore? i liked knowing even when i didn't participate... |
