| Mordalles @ 8/16/2006 2:30:39 PM commented on favourite astronaut looks nice.  a lot of the anatomy bothers me, especially the left leg and right arm (length, shape, shading and proportions in comparison to rest of body). also, the way you shaded her right hand makes it look like the hand is the wrong way around (but only if you look quickly). the planet on the right looks really nice. the right part of her bottom lip too seems a bit out of place (the shining just below the black). also, look at photos to see how the neck vain should go.  |

 | Mordalles @ 8/8/2006 8:15:06 AM commented on God Bless The Child i didn't say they used AIRBRUSH and BLUR for this specific version. they painted the original, and then went over it pixel by pixel using only the ONE tool. im sorry, pros or not, i just dont believe this is pixelart and was done from scratch without any painted layer underneath from which you can choose every colour and just place it on top. then again, i might be wrong. zooming in on this, this doesn't look pixelled. the 2 other pics you just submitted is completely different from this (and one can see its pixellated). it doesn't really prove anything. again, i might be wrong. if you had absolutely no painting/photo underneath from which you traced/picked colours and actually started the pic from scratch (from a empty canvas) using ONLY a pencil tool, then i apologise. as of now, i dont believe it. |
| Mordalles @ 8/8/2006 7:03:30 AM commented on God Bless The Child this is not pixelart. there is no way you didn't use tools like blur, airbrush, etc. painting something with all these wonderful tools, and then going over it pixel by pixel is not pixelart. and the right iris/pupil (whatever you call it) is much larger than the left one. |
 | Mordalles @ 8/1/2006 4:23:53 AM commented on Adam and Eve looks nice. i would rather see original pixelarts from you (not just painted over old paintings, i dont really see that as pixelart). some areas looks colour reduced. but great painting!just so that people dont attack me. ill just explain. when painting something, you have a vast array of tools to use, like burn and dodge tools etc. its easy to highlight certain areas quickly and adding shadows etc, and then reducing size and just going over pixel by pixel. also using brushes makes shading much easier, since its pretty easy to go over a painted pic with pixels, when you just have to get the colours from the paiting for every pixel. but im new in the pixelworld, so if its not a problem, forget about me. i might just submit a few pixellated paintings myself then.  just my opinion.again, great painting. |

| Mordalles @ 7/30/2006 7:02:44 AM commented on Elk's Moonlight Cat please don't tell people you have skills or you can do this or that. just do it, and prove it. covering large areas with dithering isn't really what i would call skill. the skill lies in covering those large areas with detailed texturing. like previously mentioned, things like fur. the feet are all on different height levels, as if he is sitting on a very uneven terrain. and the angle of his back left (our left) paw is very strange, again, as if he is sitting on some strange non-horizontal platform. the front left paw looks like an exact copy of the right front paw.lastly, this looks familiar? |
 | Mordalles @ 7/28/2006 5:16:32 AM commented on Orochimaru Tracing Portrait well, the fact that you didn't do anything here (no, you didn't really shade this, as you just traced even the shading), i think you still have a lot to learn. doing your own stuff from scratch will make you improve 100 times more. you might as well just have posted the original pic. age has nothing to do with it. |
