As for the outlines... what can I say, I like them, they give that comic book feel that I love in pixelart, and I don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon. So if I post something new in the future, be prepared for...
THE OUTLINES! :P

 | -DE- @ 12/30/2008 12:07:27 PM commented on RPG Battle You need contrast between bg/sprites, man. And I don't mean x1 contrast, x3 contrast!
What I mean is that sprites are generally well done, but the bg is a) too busy, b) has too much contrast between brightest and darkest shades. The floor is the worst. It's so detailed it blends with the characters - you need to drop some (most) of those dark lines and let it flooow.
Apart from that I believe the tree on the right needs some work. The canopy is rather pillowy.
But overall it's great. Just watch the contrast between planes and aim for the stars! ^o^

I like it how it is, I even think you overdid it a bit. But hey, it's your game, you decide the quality :) My favorite part is the tiles - they are very good and blend with each other perfectly. I'm afraid the sprites are a bit too dark compared to them. You might consider adding some different colors to the sprites, because right now they are a bit monotonous. Atmosphere is one thing, easily distinguishable characters is another. If you were to place both heroes next to each other I would have trouble telling who is who.

 | -DE- @ 3/1/2008 8:11:34 AM commented on RPG Mockup Vital claims it's based on a Polish fantasy novel by Jacek Piekara - "Sluga Bozy" ("Servant of God"). I wouldn't know 'cause I don't read books, but the piece itself is very nice, though feels a bit rushed. Here's a loose translation of the dialogue options: "Fine, mortal, let's make a deal..." "- What do you suggest then?" "- I don't make deals with strangers - who are you, demon, and who sent you?" "- You must be joking! I'm going to send you back to hell, infernal spawn!"
