Here it is. The things I changed were:

Tweaked the palette. There so much potential sub surface scattering of light when it comes to fruit like apples, so I upped the saturation in the green midtones.
Added a highlight to the edge of the leaf facing the lightsource and changed the highlight on the apple itself.
Smoothened the dithering
Anti-aliased the features on the face
Changed the shading on the brown branch bit on the top, and the face.

I felt the eyes needed to pop out actually, instead of being smoothed into everything. I would love to see your edit, although I probably wont update this. It's always nice to see something better :)

Great piece. The biggest thing I noticed though is that the eyes can easily be anti-aliased with all those colours available. Also the dithering on the top could be a bit smoother. I've made an edit if you want to see it, but I appreciate that this was made a quite while ago.
