the two lighter dots are his teeth, that are so prominent because he doesnt have a lower jaw.

the eye is the bigest thing in the facial area, it uses the lightest color to stand out.

yeah, you totally caught my reference, my first sprite looked nothing like them but as i started to do the animation my attempts totally suck, i did about 4 until i just gave up and basically just copied( not really a copy since there are lots of differences but w/e)

That looks very similar to the rock monsters from the Chaos Engine...just with a pallet and head change. All the muscles are nearly identical. It would be nice if you would reference...

The movement of soulders looks a bit odd and nedd AA, and the shadow doesn´t match with it. I suggested you to paint the eyes( if there are eyes... It seems to be eyes...not horns) in another colour like yellow, ´cause in grey doesn´t see well. But is a god job, it remembers me a brute golem... or a brute devil, too...
