My try at japanese painting aesthetic. stands out because I generally render things more. Drawn as if in few 'brush strokes'. Possible abuse of dithering, though competent usage. 3 hours? I dunno -- it flowed nicely but took awhile to actually get from 'clean' to 'finished' -- initially I had this huge expanse of sky, dithered with the same brighter sky color shown here; it confused the composition, so I ended up putting in silhouettes as depth cues.

Yes. That version wouldn't have looked any different though -- hardly any changes were made in the area used for the avatar.
