The smoke animation could use some work; it has a move forward then jump back sort of look to it at the moment. Otherwise excellent.

The smoke anims are so faint, yet so realistic. In a strange way, it reminds me of Advance Wars.

Great job, I like how you do your fading in the background for buildings that are farther back.

Yeah, it's obvious how much time was spent on this, but the smoke's animation is really, really cheap 8D

I like that the sky could double as ground.
The smokestacks... I like the distant ones, but the near ones -- AFAIK the consistency of the smoke varies. so you'd need to attenuate and animate the blobs more before it would look plausible. Less colors in the smoke might help.

Another well done background but in my oppinion have some little flaws:

The blue and red hues in the foreground takes too much from the yellow atmosphere.
The windows simply doesn't fit with the building. If you notice the outlines of the building you will see that they are yellow-ish. This means that the color of the building is not entirely yellow, but is being affected by a yellow atmosphere. So, a blue window in a yellow atmosphere will get a green tone.

Wow the scrolling effect is very nice done. I like the detail of this one very much, its nearly to much to get it. Smoke effect is great for sure. I still like the forest scene best, but its quite hard to find new color sets for the levels. Im looking forward to the demo.
