The backround - i think that the weirdest part is that the huge squares are too bright compared to the backround.. i like the guy him self thoug, very nice...

I don't really know what it is but it's kinda nice...in a morbid way. If the stuff on the background are supposed to be flames I think you could have shaped them better...and your signature doesn't look very good there...
