I made these for a guy named Richard90.  He gave us a pallette to use.  All top down ships facing up.  OLD OLD OLD.

Wow these ships look almost organic, like they are alive!
Great realisation!

I think I saw the topic for this. Was it in the GameMaker.nl forums graphics section?

These are really nice but I think the detail could better be shown if you put the colors in a ramp and worked from that.

Hey hombre. ¿No puedo realmente hablar español y confío en un traductor así que podría usted intentar y deletrear por favor mejor para mí? ¿De todas formas, intenté traducir y yo le pienso dicho que usted deseó ver el juego, tengo razón?

Believe it or not, that was actually the brief.  Glad to see it was more obvious than I thought.

What a screwball palette to work with. They look kind of ... organic. Like they were grown, rather than constructed. Catch my drift? Cool concept.

I think you tried to cramp too much detail into such little space...I think -DE- has a great flying ship you could use for reference in this over-detailed style. And I must agree with Rodahue, the pallete is not very helpful...

These do look great, it's kind of hard to distinguis the feature though.

Interesting designs, but there isn't any clear distinction between ship features... I suppose its the palette, though.
