Hey all! I'm new to this site, and new to pixel art! Well, I've done a few things here and there, but I'm going to start practicing a little more. Anyways, this is a sprite designed after Tiffany the Amazon from the world of Todd McFarland's Spawn. I designed it as a fighting game sprite, and did a few palette swaps. I must admit that I probably spent a lot more time on it than I should have, but I as I get better at it, it should take less time later down the road.

These look great, especially for someone new to pixel art! If you want a real challenge, try geting those colors down to 16 for each version! You've got a lot of colors in your palettes now that are barely used, or not contrasty enough from their neighbors to be worth having. You can take a look at some Capcom or SNK fighting sprites and see how brilliantly they reuse colors to do different jobs.

I did reference from a couple of fighting game sprites in order to construct it, but didn't directly copy any of them. I suppose the pose is kind of common. Lack of originality on my part. You're right, it does look rather sloppy. I made it a few weeks ago, and even over these last few weeks, I have learned a lot of new pixel techniques. Hopefully they will start rubbing off on future pieces. Thanks!

I could have sworn i've seen that fighter sprite body and pose before. Sorry for being so negative, but that's just my suspicious latenight attitude. Other than that, it looks okay, but i dont think any of those palettes look good together. Everything seems quite rushed and confusing, but no worries seeing as you're new to the media.
