First entry into the the world of pixeling... This is one of seven frames used for an intro screen in a game I am working on...

I suggest working on smaller pieces as practice before attempting something like this.

Thanks for the advice,

Yeah, I am pretty new to this whole pixeling stuff, so I am sure that my technique will improve with time. I will re-work this one, and try and see if I can create some more consistent/effective shading...

Your starting off Pixel Art with a game without trying littler pieces before? I for one say good luck on that

Nice lines, but your shading leaves something to be desired.

While it is entirely possible to create a nice textured effect using larger dots, the look of your letters is more dirty and inconsistant than textured. I'd suggest really givinng some thought as to how you want your textures to look and perhaps grab a reference picture. For example, even if you have a pebbly texture, you wouldn't have stray bright red pixels along the bottom edge of your dark red sections.

I also find the shading on the guy and desk to be really inconsistent and it fails to give shape to the objects there. Pick a light source - draw it in if you need a reminder of where your light is coming from, and then really think about how that lilght is going to hit objects. The lip of the desk would cast a shadow on the side of the desk if it's lit from above. Calves and thighs are roughly cylindrical in shape, and the shading should reflect that.

I'd suggest making a thread in the WIP forum and continuing to work on this. It has potential to be an excellent piece.
