I don't feel guilty at all sorry.

Lol like all the other people that commented here, I doubt if this was made pixel by pixel anyway im in a good mood so I wont bother you haha but if you did any of the things mentioned in these comments... feel guilty

Cheating or not aside. I like it but I think the color of the grass is a little too blue, imo.

Kalome (Level 1 Private) at 2/19/2007 10:02:35 PM
Never tried? Well then I guess I'm the first. I'm just trying to say, believe what you want to believe, but I'm gonna keep drawing these. There is no blur, it is pretty easy if you ask me; I have more pixel radial blur pieces. whatever.

MurrMan (Level 1 Rookie) at 2/19/2007 9:34:54 PM
what it looks like to me is a screen shot from a low poly rcing game. i think that the tires are believable but the grass looks like it was a image that was plased onto a mesh and angle and the rims look size reduced. If i am wrong i hope you will take no offence.

edit, what thorughs the grass off to me is that it looks motion blured. that is something that you get in video games and TV. i have not seen a pixel artist ever try to render something like that, so i am skepticle.

there is nothing wrong i see with cheating a little bit with a background, but not telling us initially is very sneaky. Again, if i am wrong tell me so...

thanks jalonso

I've admitted this because Kalome has tried to answer all questions and the benefit of the doubt is in order here. He has also joined in various WIPs and collabs in the forum so his intent and involvement here seems genuine and a warm welcome should be given.
If however we ever find you to have cheated I will personally lead you to the lions

Robotriot's thoughts project my own. Color reduced, I'd say, besides the car body itself. Unless there's a WIP or reference to prove otherwise. Even looking at your other pixels, this doesn't fit in.

Kalome (Level 1 Private) at 2/19/2007 5:40:35 PM
yeah same thing with me

Kame (Level 1 Rookie) at 2/19/2007 5:33:49 PM
So? That's a sketch. This is pixelart. My pixelart always comes out more realistic than my sketches.

Sorry if my dithering is bad; is there any tutorials on how to dither properly?

robotriot (Level 3 Hatchikyu) at 2/19/2007 4:36:51 PM
I don't know, but the only thing that looks truly pixeled is the car body itself, the tire and road look like they were colour-reduced, with all that random noise in them. WIP/reference would be nice to see here ...

Kalome (Level 1 Private) at 2/18/2007 2:21:53 PM
well, those sketches of the cars are like really old now, and I'm a lot better at pixel art. I'll post some other pieces I have. Thanks for the comments

I've been making pixeling for about 2 years now, and just found this website. I'll post up my new WIP pics when I start a new one.

oh and one more thing, you guys are free to give me any pointers so I can improve.

Welcome to PJ and please don't be discouraged by the skeptical nature of the PJ members. When new, you will need to prove yourself since we've been tricked so much, by rippers and cheaters (not accusing, just clearing things up). Helpful for this first pixel is your reference photo link and links to any WIP you have for this pixel.

I Know it's definately possible,  but it WOULD have to be traced IMO.

tomic (Level 10 Lieutenant General) at 2/18/2007 9:52:27 AM

i second mr. shade.. some wip may prove me wrong, but i've got massive doubts on the genuineness of this one

compared to the pieces you've got at deviantart (like this http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33192849/) this would really be an *unbelievable* improvement

so for me this smeels like traced (and probably given up on the reflections of the carbody cause it doesn't quite fit to the realisitc look of the other parts like rims and street)

could you show some progress images, cause its almost too good for your first post... gets hard to believe you made it you know... if its really pixel art, then id say its better than incredible...
