This is one of my favourite old amiga pics as it's original and I like the colours. I did this in something like 1992 on Amiga Dpaint.

Awsome dithering and colors! So smooth...

Thanks for the reply!

Interesting, I had no idea it could be written in any of Earth's languages. It's a pity it doesn't mean anything -- that would be a hell of a surprise! ;)

(I changed my mind -- five out of five; it deserves much more! :D)

Hi Skurwy,
This one was pretty much from my own head. As I've mentioned before, I was going through a bit of a 'Rodney Mathews' phase when I did this and this can be evidenced in the shape of the building to the left. The lighting on the building was probably influenced by the Sci-fi artist Chris Moore, who does a lot of that kind of back-lit stuff.  It's on a desert world so I guess I could cite dune as a reference as I first read those books at around this time.
Interestingly, the writing on the kind of spur thing turns out to look a lot like Katakana script, where I guess it would say 'imusu', which doesn't mean anything as far as I know. What's interesting is that I drew this in 1992, when I was about 16 or 17 and I made the script up as some kind of alien writing. I didn't learn to read Japanese until I was at least 20!

I've been reading E. Hamilton lately, so I thought I'd leave a little comment. :)

I agree on the '60/'70 sci-fi book covers. I love both: the covers and this piece! <3. Though not perfectly-made, you can't say anything bad about the atmosphere, mood and its great feeling!

Don't you remember where your inspiration was taken from? :)

Yep, 4/5 but fav'd! :)

Awesome.

I like this a lot better than some of your other stuff because of the limited pallet this one has! It's great, and the color conservation is creative and impressive.

And like everyone else said, the sky rocks.

sky is really awesome...

Good colours and atmosphere. Reminds me of those nice sci-fi book covers :)

has the feel of some good old dos-games to it, like dune..

very athmospheric - love it a lot, especially the sky.. and i'm normally not a huge fan of dithering - but you've got this rare talent of using this technique without making it look overdithered.. very enjoyable!

That's mighty awesome looking. Somwhat reminds me of Another World/Out of this World.

Awesome work, especially the sky - it's a large area but you kept it from becoming boring without making it too busy. Very nice.

OO, this is really nice! Like some illustration for a 60's light sci-fi book!
