Rome War... :: Pixel Art Detail

The soldiers look great (the standing one has lots of presence), and the subtle dithering on the background does too! If anything, i think that the fallen soldiers get kinda lost without extra volume on their shadows... i realize it's a style choice, but i think it would look better if you added some sort of subtle (black dithering) shading where their shadows are. Also, moving them around a bit (upwards more, and making the sword on the ground go behind the foremost one) would improve some perspective issues.

wow beautiful! I would have liked to see some slight shadows on the corpse too .. but that's a really good entry!! (newer better..)

Uhhh...Losev Those other things that look like new colors are called dithers. They blend to different colours together. But it all uses the same colors. I vote you count again.

the background dithering is fantastic.  great job.

I like it. I know you may had tried to make the bodies look like ghosts, but I'd prefer em with some black shades. :] On the other hand, the atmosphere of this piece is nice. 8)

Klimat po prostu miażdży. Mam tylko 3 zastrzeżenia.

Mianowicie- brakuje mi jakiegoś porządnego tła- np. słońca za chmuryma itp. :P
Więcej trupów- ocena zdecydowanie by się podniosła.
Anatomia stojącego klienta- ten rozstęp nóg dziwny jakiś.

A mnie się tam podoba. Praca naprawdę ładna i estetyczna. Tylko te ruiny wydają się być troszkę płaskie. Ale i tak 5/5 i fav :*

Nie wiem,zambowi proponowalem glos za glos ;P musze jednak przyznac ze ta praca mi sie bardziej podoba...te leżące postacie wydają mi się "podejżane" ale moze jestem przewrazliwiony;)  Jedyne moje zastrzezenie to to ze ten "czerwony" to bardziej brązowy niż czerwony;P

znowu złą miniaturkę zrobiłęś.

large scale pieces always make it easier to bring out detail, and with three colors, ya sorta really need a lot of detail. It definitly helped create shades.

i totally disagree with Christopher though, i don't think it needs to be packed with a bunch of different things just for the sake of make it have less open space. i think it makes it beautiful to not have so much stuff clustered in there.

I learned a lot of dithering techniques just from looking at this peice. Beautiful job. :D

Sweet! So simple and gorgeous! I'd say the colors are ok.

Pretty sweet stuff. I like how the dead bodies look almost like ghosts without the black shade. But your colors, man. I guess your red could be considered red, but just barely. But the "yellow" is not yellow at all. The black is black though. No doubts there. :)
