Haven't done any game mockups in a long time, so thought I'd try a standard side-scrolling space shmup. It's in space, so I got away with minimal backgrounds here. I had a bit of fun with it though, which hopefully you can see if your monitor brightness isn't too low.

I like this really well. More could be donw with the background tiles however.

It reminds me of the game Hellfire.

a liiiitle bit not consistent throughout but I still love the delicious style, and the blurry effect on the score numbers also turned out surprisingly nice :).
