as has been mentioned, white bg needs to go, and the pose is slightly off balance.

I think you need to change the background color, because I can't tell what is going on with the head or the weaponry since it looks like their colors are nearly the same as the background.

over all a good sprite but something about it makes it look like its leaning forward....I think it maybe the left foot (right when you're looking at it.)

somthing looks bad with the Proportion, change to dark colors that will be cool, the shield annoy , any way nice sprite.

I think that it is pretty cool sprite! One thing that what happens in head area is not very readable. If it is bird's head - you need to use different colors than armor. Anyway it must be more understandable - where eyes are and such. Another thing is that people may be distracted by white background (it is noticed in rules when you submit work). There's a site where you can make your pic transparent, but I forgot it.
