I started making this on my TI-83 calculator as I passed by a tree between classes. For most of my works that I have made on the TI-83, then colored on the computer, I've consider the black and white calc picture and the colored computer picture to be two different, but related pieces. But in this case, I was going though a quick sketch phase with my calculator, so the calculator version was never intended to be "completed." if you would like to see it anyway, I'll give you a link here: http://img108.exs.cx/img108/9844/schltreebw0dk.gif Despite the fact that the TI-83 image was suppose to be a quick sketch, I spent weeks on it trying to get it just right. As school got busy, I forgot about it. One day I suddenly remembered about it, transfered it to my computer, and finished it that day. I think the trunk blends with the dark part of the grass a bit too much, but I am quite satisfied with how the leaves turned out.

Nice. I like the TI one even better, though, for some reason. It's very simple, but effective.

A.B.- the tree this was based on was actually on the side of a hill, so that's why the ground looks that way. I never really gave it much thought till now. My eye always saw it as if you were viewing the tree from a higher angle, but now that you've mentioned something, I can see what your talking about.

This is actually quiet impressive to be your first submission!

The leaves is pretty well done!

You should change the perspective of the ground. Right now it looks like the tree is placed 45 degrees toward the ground.
