I like this piece. especially the perspective that you drew it at.

Thanks for all Your comments, I was a bit skeptical myself as to whether or not it would get into the challenge, I didn't take enough time to read it properly till the piece was more than half done so... If it's not excepted into the challenge then that's alright.

Wow, I'm not into any NFS games, but this looks very nice! Good job.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/8/2008 11:46:13 AM
I merely meant that it was based on a screenshot of the game (3-D).

Varock Shade (Level 7 Underboss) at 1/8/2008 11:28:03 AM
Well, compare it with the ref again koch... You can't just say it's a trace because it looks like the ref...
about the piece: I like it, but I would have gone for thicker black lines, and I would have also made the colours oversaturated... And for speed I would have added lines on the sides of the containers, ship and ground.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/8/2008 9:01:14 AM
Besides that it is a trace of the actual screenshot of the 3-D game.  Technically isn't everything on this site 2-D, I mean it's on the screen, right?

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/8/2008 8:57:31 AM
This by no means could be construed as a 2-D mock up, sorry.  Well, Bengoisha, the challenge wasn't pixel a 3-D custcene from a 2-D game that was a remake of an originally 3-D game.

I like this style too... Simply useful...

jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) at 1/8/2008 7:31:07 AM
I was confused myself which is why I added it as a 'scene' and not into the challenge.
I figured member input would help definig this entry for now.
It may be added to the challenge by the deadline.

no more detail ;] i love this style ;] remind me tech demo on atari ;pp

This technically could be a 2D mockup for a game, you know, cutscenes and all.

The main thing that bothers me about this piece is that it seems just straight from reference-to-pixels, instead of adding your own creative twist of perspective, light source and cars, you just you know, traced in a way. Also like Equilibrix said, needs more detail, alot more.

Equilibrix (Level 5 Captain) at 1/8/2008 5:18:30 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the challenge supposed to be a 2D mock up of an existing 3D game, featuring a main character and at least one enemy/opponent? I can imagine the car in the front is the main one and the others are opponents, but where's the 2D mock up?

The picture itself is quite good, but I think it deserves more detail!
