Inspired by a display gun at a Magpul dealer's booth at a gun show I went to.

All that gear every AR15 owner wants but can't afford and doesn't need.

its fine now.

Okay, one more change. It's easy to tell the difference for me even on a stark white background now. If I go any further it'll be too gray and have too much contrast on a dark background.

my monitor may be dark, but these colors really need to stand out even more in order to be visible.

Stasis (Level 2 Corporal) at 1/22/2008 2:18:28 PM

Hm, you're right. I'm always afraid to brighten my colors even when it's extremely difficult to tell the difference on a light background, but I believe I've found some better colors now.

Thanks.

Oh i see(increased the gamma on my monitor to be able). there's not much contrast on those colors i believe...

Thank you for explanation :-) And yes, I think that you have to bear in mind the fact that this is scaled down to 1:x, so don't bother with the details which are barely visible even at 1:1. It just makes an impress of unclean work.. Anyway it's nice and I like your overall work!

Stasis (Level 2 Corporal) at 1/22/2008 7:41:59 AM
Uh, the whole thing. If I hadn't used three different colors for the magazine, it would have been five.

Stasis (Level 2 Corporal) at 1/22/2008 7:39:00 AM

Hmm, the reason for the unclean line on the magazine is that it's supposed to have a little ridge on the back, but I suppose at this scale I don't really have to bother with that, since at 1:1 you can barely notice it and it just looks like it's messed up when you zoom in.

Yeah, the holes in the stock are supposed to be there. Here's a picture of the real thing.

excuse me, but what part of this does have 8 colors?

Equilibrix (Level 5 Captain) at 1/22/2008 6:53:07 AM
On the left side of the ammo clip, the outline is not very clean.. And the white spaces in the butt of the gun are there by purpose? Other than that it looks realistic, good job.

Stasis (Level 2 Corporal) at 1/21/2008 8:25:49 PM
Absolutely right. And the more I think about it, the more I realize how unnecessary they are anyway, so I think I'll just get rid of them.

Make the text boxes/pointers more subtle. Right now they are too intrusive and take away too much attention from the actual gun.
