I'm not a huge fan of the Dragon Quest series, but it is pretty good. And believe it or not, I actually got to level 30 in the original DQ for NES. Sure, it was on an emulator and I was using turbo mode, but that's legit enough to me. Anyway, I thought I'd make a tribute to the game's greatness by creating a Game Boy Advance mockup. This was done in one day, and to be more precise, probably four or five hours. I think it turned out pretty well.

Dragon Quest is the original Japanese name. But for some reason, it was changed to Dragon Warrior in the US. But a few years ago, (I think around when DQ7 was released), they started calling the games Dragon Quest. At least I think that's how it was. Pretty sure it explains it on Wikipedia pretty well.

Was it called Dragon Quest in a different markets? I swear it was called Dragon Warrior?

overall it's pretty cool.

i think you should go back to the tree tiles, and adjust them so the trees don't follow a perfect square grid. You could use the same colors, but adjust the outlines, and end up with a more organic looking forest, especially if you made a couple variation tiles.
