Here's something a bit silly and over-the-top I just created for the TG16/PCE shmup, Xymati, we are busy working on.  It's a mockup of the large carrier launch ship for the very beginning of the game.  This sprite is mirrored, and the light source is coming from the top/front (similar to the DoDonPachi entries that were made a while back).  Seasoned shmup fans will recognize obvious influences like Seibu Kaihatsu, Cave, and even Hudson Soft.  And no, there's no other good reason the runways are tilted other than I wanted to try something different.

nice ship - I like parts which keep the platforms :)

for me background is too saturate and ship lost in that colours.

Pretty cool style, good luck with the game :)
One small crit, the beams from the player ship engines looks a bit strange with that long straight tail.Might look better animated though.
