Wow, I like this piece Larwick. With the bubbles coming from the butterfly, it makes me think they are underwater. My favorite part of this piece is probably the helmet./face. It has some nice colors and I like the lighting.

Thanks! I'm glad you noticed about the butterfly, i did change a few things to it, tried to smoothen out some stuff and add some more details i guess. I added a pink sparkle to it's wing too... :P

The hand is way better now! And yeah, ring finger... How that escaped me, I'll never know. I think the butterfly is doing better now. Not sure if you did anything to it but my mind says something's changed.

@Doppgang: I know what you mean, the butterfly is odd looking cus it lacks smooth shading because of the awkward palette (basically just added purple to a gray-yellow mix... oh man), the hand just sucked, i think it was pillow shaded. Ring finger you mean? :P Hopefully i've fixed the hand/finger problem now with a bit more definition. I'm quite happy with the improvement. Thanks alot! I thought of animating him but lately i get pretty tired animating, maybe some other time (like i always say!).

I really love this guy! He's just bursting with so much character.

The hand and butterfly area looks a little more confused than the rest of the piece, but I'm not really complaining. It's the only thing that sticks out to me, and I can't really place why exactly. Perhaps it's because the individual shapes are defined by rather harsh lines (in comparison to something like the helmet). Probably that and also the pinky and the finger, whose name escapes my mind,  lacking any specific definition or seperation. So I guess that I'd suggest smoothing out the hand and defining the pinky and other finger a little bit better.

As far as the palette goes, I'd say it's A-okay. You might be able to balance the picture better if you were to make the butterfly yellow with some red patterns, but that's really just a guess. I could also see it taking away focus from the character.

So ya, that's what I got for that. I'd love to see this guy in a game or a cartoon or something. He's just too good to be damned to life as a statue. I know...you should animate him!

@Jal: You mean 3 fingers and a thumb? Yeah that would've been much easier, but that way of depicting cartoon hands sortof annoys me. :P
@TeaBob: Ahah, i had drawn that kneedot before a newer colour had been added which would replace it quite well i think. The lighter tooth-line was intentional because i find directly horizontal lines of a solid colour to appear thicker than diagonals etc, but i guess it isn't that big of an issue, especially when surrounded by highlights. I actually added the random red pixel above the thumb to give the impression of another highlighted tooth edge slightly out of view, but now i realise it doesn't really work as well as i'd hoped. Green thing's whatever you want it to be Bob. ;) Thanks for the pointers!

@Pandora: Unfortunately i'm not quite sure what you mean, are you mistaking the holes in the helmet to be black teeth? Or do you mean to make the lines that make up the jagged teeth to be lighter? Sorry if i've missed something.

Agreed - nice color choices. The only things I really dislike about it are its teeth, or whatever they're called. I honestly think it would look better without them, but if you insist, at least make them a bit lighter than black.

damm B.O.B., those are some seriously hardcore nitpicks...gotta love it.

Jeez your choice of colors and how clean you're making them as of late is wonderful. Small issues: I'd either make that little pixel dot on his right knee bigger, if it's folds your depicting, or just remove it completely. Also, on the teeth there is a solid black outline on the teeth, except one part, and it just seems like you missed a spot, though could've been intentional. Seems like a stray bright red pixel to the top left side of the thumb. Also, I'm not sure what that green thing is that he's holding behind his back.

But yeah, this is super clean, and nit picks aside, this is groovy. Make more  now...
