I think the lighting effect looks odd only 'cause it's not in motion (IE flickering and animated) ... I think were it to just sort of flicker when the animation is taking place it'd probably look okay! I like this ... very retro RPGish!

I think the lighting effect on the guy could be a bit better, not exactly sure how though. The demon or tiger or whatever it is, is very cool. Good job overall
