i don't thinks so... as far as i know, they are just residuals of the flame that was 'there' a moment ago.

Thanks LazyKat, you taught me a new word. I like the shape of the fire...the flames...and stuff. Does anyone know if there's a technical term for those little flames that look like they're disconnected from the fire???
