I only use Photoshop for pixelart. It is as simple as using the 'pencil' tool only, at all times.
Benefits include layers, and access to in-program animations, color palette control and file output options.

Pixelart = One pixel at a time using the pencil tool.
If a program does this its ideal for pixelart.

yes at first i used photoshop to create a piece, but i think it's too much powerful and i don't feel comfortable using it, i newly found this GraphicsGale program in it's easy to use and i'm tryin to get used of it. it's so fun !!

I was looking at both this and the challenge entry when adding them to the gallery and wondered if these are created in Photoshop and the preferences are not set up for pixelart. I gave the benefit of the doubt because of it. Gas13 and the links page and maybe even on the forum there is a setting up Photoshop for PA tutorial, if this is the case.

Hm, you have some "noise" colors. See all those greys in the hair? It looks like only one grey. Try to keep in mind that every color should be distinguishable from the other at 1x, especially with this simple style. Look at Stitchy's work for example. She does some good portraits in this style.

I really like your work but if it were cleaned up it would be awesome.

What happened?  Did the white in the face get messed up when you made it transparent?

Pixeljoint avatars are 64x64 or smaller.
Your other submission was sent back because it may have been pixelart but it was reduced and distorted no longer making it pixelart.
Welcome :)
