I have to agree with jalonso here. This is a back track in the quality of your work.. I think you rushed this in my opinion. I know it's fun to enter challenges, but you should spend more time on each entry. I am sort of a jerk for saying that, because I saw the challenge when I had a few hours left and made mine to enter. But I think you just went a little too "under board" haha, if that is a word!

It is a cool idea though..I'll give you that.

I understood all with or without explanation or discussion.
I was being a voice of consience for you and keeping you from lazy behaviours and stated so because, you are no longer a n00b so its undefendable. I admire your progress and come to respect you and your work. You know this.
I fully expect you to call me out on my work. PJ is a place for us to bounce of each other, praise and admire, but also a place to, without fear, call each other out so that we get better and better.
There is no argument involved here since I am not mad at you for some 'lazyness'. I expect better from you and this is your own doing.
There was a time when anything I ( or anyone else) would say to you would meet resistance and defiance. Over time you have come to understand and 'see'. I have not ordered nor demanded that you change anything at all. I merely wish you to keep this in mind in the event that like that past I was correct and you learn from it...

Well, I do have explanations; The the wierd shadow: It was originally just a staight line across, dividing into the two solid colors, and I didn't feel like doing a regular dither because 1. Everyone dithers the sky 2. didn't have time 3. did'nt have patience. I actually added the lines in last, because colors in the tree were the same as in the background, and the kinda blended and it looked wierd. (and reasons 2 + 3).

I don't want to sound like i'm n00bing out on you Jal, just some friendly argumentative remarks.  

And I meant none of that. Pixelart 'techniques', what's with the oekaki shadow?,  Unrefined linaert?,, etc.
Don't really matter cuz some other Mod added it but I don't think its up to YOUR standards. Again, I did read you said it was unfinished.

Really? I thought it came out pretty good, especially since I can usually do pretty well on palettes but this one was limited to grayscale. And don't think I don't get the concepts of saving colors or anything, but after googling pictures of "sin city" I tried to mimic the style, which is only grey in one place/only color in another you know.

Your quality has been zooming forward and while this may be a great piece when complete, now as is actually a step back. Even when you know that its unfinished. I don't think it yet belongs in your gallery and will not personally add it. Another Mod may but not me, it does not meet YOUR standards*.


*...and after the mushroom getting praise...really! I'm surprised at you.
