The title says it all.

Our world SUCKS right now.

Our climate sucks.
Our global economy is slipping.
All we do is fight.
And destroy everything.

We're all screwed, who knows when this will be over?

*sighs* I love you virus 616. The Waste Land is my fetish, most precious, most read and recited poem.

I like the shades and textures on this one. I see (and I do...) too many  dithers that make pixelart look way too clean and cute. Classic and clean is good, but each time I end up bored (this is the dark side of the pixel... and I like it) I think you are on the path I prefer, from this point of view. The colors are your choice, so no comment. 1 critic on the lower side: too much contrast between the light grey and dark navy: in the 100% image I see some gray shapes and I don't understand why are they there ... Maybe some other middle tones could change that. when you put gray near a saturated color, it tends to disappear.  I don't see other solution than adding some color into the intermediate grays (yellow, complementary  to blue, might add some materiality....)

If it's so easy, why does everyone do the opposite?

it's so easy to go "abstract" ...
did you did it pixel by pixel? ;)

use your imagination, and quit expecting all art to be handed to you on a silver platter, thats not how I roll.

So large comments, but I see only small picture with red, blue and gray noise.

The point of this art is to make you think, I think it's working, look at lollige's comments :) At any rate:

@Lollige: No corellation between the color choices, I just made red and blue ramps that had similarities for blending, the grey is actually very low saturated color swatches in my ramp :)

@Josiah: You are very close to seeing what I see, which is unusual when I present my paintings and whatnot to people I know in real life, you have great imagination :)

@Darth mandarb: I was thinking this exactly when I chose my colors.

@virus616: Well said.

Thanks all. I think i'm getting better my abstraction technique, using less random pixels and more thought out pixels.

"This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with a wimper"

T.S Elliot quote.

Very interesting pixel art

"Some say the world will end in fire ... some say in ice."

The world is what we make of it my friend.  :)

Nice image.

This is what I see when I look at this image
Around in the red area I see a battle between ancient soldiers.
In the blue area I can see a weird underwater monster with it's mouth wide open as if  it's going to engulf something. As for the black area, the only thing I can notice is that it looks as if massive groups of people are stranded walking endlessly. It's my representation of how the skies are in anger from the pollution causing turmoil, the monster is the water that will flood our shorelines if the icecaps keep melting, and the people are within the chaos.

Very saturated!  It reminds me of the metaru explosion thing you once started, this blue is almost exactly the same!
I am not sure if I like it yet.. I guess I find the grey on the bottom a bit too messy (and to grey)...

Our world sucks? Yes, maybe it does. Was this ever different? In stoneage our world was a beautiful place without global economy, I know... but than there was no internet. No computer, no world wide contact. You probably didnt get older than 30 etc.

Roman age? slaves? wars?

Today we can relax maybe 50% of the day. (sadly a lot of us use it for sleeping ;) ). I guess thats a gift of 'god'!
Also we have pixeljoint right here, we can go to school and learn to understand the world etc.

Our world doesn't change that much, and I believe its the best place to be. We're not screwed, and when this is over we will have a thousand of other problems. We'll have to live with that :)

Wow did I really write that much just because of your description?? o.O
I didn't ment to!
