Here's a recent pixel I made, it was basically a remake of my old pixel-art "The Man in the Tree." I found that one lacking in color or style, so I remade it like this, and added some flavor. Anyways, I didn't get a WIP animation together, but here's the original pieces I started out with. I was actually remaking trees for SQUIRE, but I might even remake em' again. http://i341.photobucket.com/albums/o363/SpriterDex/wipstuff.png I'll take critique and suggestions, but I'm done with this and want to work on other things now. *sigh* I just wanted you to cite your reference, thats all. not take it down. In fact, its a great piece of pixel art. What you described certainly is referencing. I think you are confusing referencing with copying.

Ugh, removing it. No need for this drama and shiz. Sure, a reference is a reference, but I don't see any need for accusation here. :/

I did have the window of pixelation open with his topic, yes, but I didn't "zoom in" or "trace" or "copy." I guess you could call that referencing, maybe even inspiration referencing. I dunno. But yeah, don't lose respect for me just because of this. :o

I didn't suggest it was a rip nor edit - just an obvious reference to the original artist which was not cited. It is common courtesy to cite your references. I may be speaking from a pixelation moderator standpoint, but whatever. I just dont like lying.

I don't see the offense to tell the truth. Its not an edit or a rip. Is there anything really wrong with references anyhow? I don't get it, certainly no way near for Dex to lose respect over it.
I can't find any pixels that are exactly in the same place after loading them in PS :/

When presented with something as obvious as this, you should admit and correct your mistakes without hesitation.

there is no doubt this was referenced from Vierbit's piece. But really, that is not a problem with me so long as you cite your reference and makes sure he is fine with it. Its not like you traced it or copied his pixels.

I didn't actually use his piece as a reference when making it, but yeah, I was floored by it when I saw it and it basically inspired me. I'll remove it if it's too close, but yeah, it wasn't a reference. :/

Very nice Dex. It looks somewhat abstract, or a mix between the deku tree and wispy. I'd try and put more texture into everything next time (the bush looks like it could do with a few marks here and there).

Hey guys, meet my friend, Dex the spriting beast.

Everything is really good, except for the plain cream colored background. If you replaced that with something, anything would probably work fine, I think this would be perfect :]

Also, might I add that this particular tree has very large nostrils.

The only letdown is the white background. Could have used some AA from the leaves there.
