Yes! I finally did a pixel fanart piece. I always hesitated trying to portray existing game characters in pixel art, because it often seems like the better you try to make them resemble the original, the more it looks like a dead on copy or a sprite edit :D. So i tried to go wild with the style to avoid that. (Yeah I know, all the die hard Sonic fans are gonna want to kill me now haha). Also Sonic isn't even my #1 favorite character to be honest, and I didn't play his games as often, but he's still probably in my top 10 :).

well... sorry to disappoint you lol.

really, just take this as a sketch at best. I know my last couple of pieces are really at the minimalistic/obscure side, but that's only because I'm working on a massive complex pixel work in the meantime *whistles*...

i realize you go for the crazy retro style and usually it works wonders but I really feel it didn't come through on this piece. Maybe it's the subject matter that causes the gap or just some fault in the presentation but I really think this piece seems a lower in skill than what we all know you to be capable of.

Kudos for trying though, I totally agree with your philosophy on your game character portrayal philosophy.
