first of all: unfinished due to lack of time - had to be in the office this weekend, final version after the challenge then. looking for a motive for the challenge i didn't want to do the obvious and just pick one of the monuments for the numerous victories vs. france from the days when we didn't have football =) and as i've always had some commie pixel on my todo-list i decided to do the karl marx monument, located in chemnitz, some 40 minutes from here (formerly 'karl-marx-stadt' in the gdr-era). so, no, despite my fascination for these guys it neither is bud spencer nor ilkke =) oh, to satisfy one's curiosity for background information: the monument was built in 1971, is 13 meters large (with the head having a diameter of roughly 7 meters) and stands in front of a 95-tile bronze-mosaic (bronze-pixels, guys!) that bears "workers of all lands unite!" in 4 languages. reference: wikipedia-picture tools: grafx2 wip-animation: soon

The real structure does have a base, but there's no room in it - though you can't even see it now cause some artists wrapped it into polythene sheet. I come from the town were this monument stands, level 1 riddle - gnihihi

Is that based on a real structure?As a building it looks rarther odd to say the least,you can realy see the contrast between the finished head and unfinished everything else.
