Finally this thing is done! I started it sometime earlyish 2006 and then did not work on it for ages, then picked it up again in November 2007 and then again a long pause until a few days ago where I managed to finish it up to where it is now. Overall the hours spent should still be in double digits \o/ Might edit it a bit more, but I wanted to get it on here, it's basically done anyway. PS: Follow the yellow brick arrow.

Heh, finally you decided to finish it.
You know my crits on this (hand on the right looks a bit blurry, and you could put window silhouettes on the front row of buildings).
And now that I see it again, maybe you could fix the angle of the propeller on the airplane.
Other than that pretty nice. Looks awesome (same goes for the "negative space") :)

This is truly fantastic, and yeah, it screams to be modelled in lowpoly!! Skyline is amazing, i love the sense of distance.

Oh and, unless I'm missing some earlier dialogue, i don't see what is wrong with using flood fill. To ignore the tools available to us would just be silly would it not? I suppose if this is frowned upon by some pixel-ers then fair-dos but i really don't understand the problem with using such things. just my two pence.

When I first saw the preview I was like, "Hey that's a cool robot with a cool color scheme"
and so I clicked on it and I was like

Awesome piece. I love the colors and the style.

I forgot to add -- I also like how the sliver of negative space between the foot on the left and the buildings creates a lot of tension. It's clearly the moment right before destruction ensues.

Yeah, I meant his right (his left thigh doesn't catch my eye at all), but I had a quick play and couldn't get it any smoother with the existing colours without it getting breaky or bandy.

Cheers, for the replies :) Glad you peops like it. Surt, it's pretty much as good as it gets. If I do it otherwise the highlight would get breaky or jaggy. Both of which would be worse. EDIT: Oh wait, do you mean HIS his right, or in the right side of the picture. The right thigh (in pic) highlight is a tad breaky, yeh. That's what I get for pixelling unevenly stepping lines.
