Originally I was planning to make this part of the Cards Alive competition, but I strayed too far from the contest rules, so I'm just submitting it as a general piece. Shame too. I didn't read the brief carefully enough. All inspirations were taken from the reference page in the competition article.

I agree with skamacore, all this details in the letters make it quite confusing, and the size of the piece doesn't help either. But regard those things it's really cool.
Oh, it looks more like a J rather than a K.

Thanks guys. About the thought bubble, or cloud in this case, yeah I went and added unncessary detail into it which didn't really help the picture in any way. I tend not to know at what point to stop and simple just don't like to leave large "unfinished" spaces. This is something I'll need to work on.

Yep, not really following the challenge rules, but regardless this is brilliant and very well executed.

The one thing I'm not really keen on though, is the text within the thought bubbles. It seems the text is on top of the thought bubbles rather than contained within them.
