Made for a cyberpunk themed demo for MSX2 by Traktor and Tulou that was released at Breakpoint 09

 

The reason the picture is pretty empty is becouse of memory limits.. I managed to finish the picture with a few bytes margin..

exocet and jiipm: www.faq.msxnet.org/msx2.html. That sums it up pretty good.

I limited myself to 4 colors with this picture just to be able to squeaze in more pixels and dithering (as dithering compresses bad) and because I tried to challenge myself a little bit more than usual. Drawing with just a few colors is pretty fun and stimulating. 

The memory wasn't a real limitation with the title picture so with that the 4 color palette is just for the heck of it.. and I think it fits the mood in the demo.

Nice pic! I'm unfamiliar with the MSX limitations, so same question than Jiipm - what are the technical constraints of the platform? This picture is just 4 colours but the loader bar seems to be 16...

 This is one of those rare occasions where I find the heavy use of dithering looks good.  Extremely well done.  Great job

I actually was writing a comment, but this fuckin' pc turned off, so Im too lazy to write as long comment...

Is there a reason, why you have only 4 colors? Artistic reasons or is there a limit to this system. To me it looks like it would work with two more shades in it.

 

Overall, it´s a great piece!
