That looks so fine!

Maybe using the yellow as a glow around the characters rather than the grey, would help them stand out more? (or it might just make it look too harsh...)

I would agree with readability comments for the actual game, but as a piece the dusky atmosphere is just perfect.

Actually the bg might have been a little less readable, in the style of the sprites!

what noet said.. readabilty is tricky. the characters should stand out more -  at least the same level as items imo.
