I listened to following song on repeat when drew this, maybe you'll want to hear it too, it's great. (Miro Miroe - Nights of Arabia 1982): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4jUVdbglBo In one of japanese strategy games there was great spaceport screen - it had so many great things crafted in tiny resolution of, I think, 150x50. I listed all the awesome things which I seen on that screen: 1 administr. building 2 cool hangar 3 parked starship in perspective 4 very cool building over addmin. build. 5 city 6 rocket 7 robot 8 guy So I thought, that if I'll draw all these awesome things, I'll get another awesome picture, but it will be mine! I didn't want to draw a guy, so drew stuardess instead (had a bit of research on costume). Other things (including fonts) are whole new, of couse. And source of inspiration. 73:00 - they have longer days?

robot carrying sheet seems bit unsafe (not centered). but yeah i think you achieved what you set out to, pic is interesting to look at.

I think the problem is the fingers are too spread, that is not the natural 'welcome' gesture I would expect. Maybe.

Manupix Ah, you cemented my fears. I made numerous variants of hand and perhaps should make more. To me it looks a bit strange too, but I have no clue why. Maybe palm should be bigger:

I think that background may give it's influence on the perception, but the hand should look right on any bg. Anyway, here are outlines are used and it makes each object to appear on it's own black bg.

Hand looks a bit starnge, and further confused by the yellow thing behind (on the left side).

The inverted !! is not obvious...
