Ive had this project growing in my head for a while, those of pixelerate and pixelacademy, should recognise bits of it.

Its finally over, lots of work on that, not too much time consuming but im very happy with the final result none the less.

it was one of my most fun projects. I really enjoyed doing this Mock-up

You gave it more of a realistic flavor.  Not a cartoony flavor.  I like it. :D If only it were real.

Mario has finally grown up. cool.

no. WAY cool.=) I don't like the character, however it still looks great. the highlight from the fireball is a nice touch, but it should either be more consistent or less brighter.

the carnivorous plant wins the day.=)

Awesome skills and colour choice, but the ground, pipes and boxes all seem to be at different angles. The bg looks kind of unfinished too.

Rather scary when you think about Mario like this. Great work. I like how you fade the background.

AA doesn't have to be just a couple pixels long. I think the background would've been a lot smoother had you elongated the rows of pixels blending the colors on the mushroom stem and certain other areas of shallow dips in the shadows and edges.

 Neota: well i switched the color like you asked and its first of all very ugly and completely damaging for the eyes, i mean i have nothing against ultra bright red skin, but that was jus bad, sorry but i dont like it

i love his skin like it is right now, tanned and subltle, nothing flashy nothing bright jus like usual tanned human skin in a normal lighting area

 This is great (*saved*). it has one glitch: the skin colors are too desaturated compared to everything else. I suggest you try this scheme, from brightest->darkest:

Yeah, I realised it hadnt been resized. I just stated that that's the effect of poor selective outlining. But no problem! Mock ups are always fun.

Oooh, and nice update! Looks a lot cooler.

I remember this from pixelerate as well. Freaking awesome work! The only critique I have is the text at the top. Looks pretty boring and out of place in comparison to the rest of the piece. Love the dark gloomy tone to this Mario. Wouldn't mind seeing some reworks of some other classic games from you :)

 Nope, the plant have not been resized, its simply very badly aaed, gotta work on that. as for the background aaing i agree it look jagged ill work on that too

Very cool concept!

The mario character looks sweet, and I love the texture work on the slimy ground platforms. The mushrooms in the foreground also look quite nice.

However, it looks like the sell-out on the plant beast thing has worked a bit against you. It makes it look as if youve resized it from something bigger and better. It'd also be awesome to see a little more AA on the things in the far background, they look too jaggy. It wouldnt take too long to fixe both of these things.

Once again though, lovely concept, and I didnt mention the colours- I dig.
