 A sprite for a remake I got planned of the game known as Fred on the C64/Spectrum but was renamed Roland On The Ropes for the Amstrad CPC using the name of Amsoft's mascot Roland (who seemed to look totally different in every game since they didn't redo his sprites from the original games who's names they changed).  Came out better than I expected and hopefully kept the same sorta look of character that the original sprite had in terms of facial structure and stance.  I been told he looks sorta like Indiana Jones, the Pitfall guy, and an Australian...  The gun is inspired by the Luger, used by Nazi's which is probably cos I was in an Indy mindset when studying the original sprite.

I can't believe I passed this one up! This little guy is so cool. The pose and the back light are really nice. The AA is so well done, the black lines are hardly noticeable. Nicely done!

You have evolved this character. A lot. I think to the point of it no longer being a remake, but rather an original character. And I like it. The sheer amount of detail put into this little sprite is astounding; the gun, the pockets, everything. Like most of the motionless sprites I see and express my opinion on, I would love to see a .GIF animation of this. Definately among my favorite works on this entire site, 5/5.

Really kickin' work on the gun highlighting, red shading and a generally kickass character. Heh, it definitely is an odd combo... you don't picture non-Nazis using the luger too much.

Awesome, awesome, awesome.  This guy is just a perfect action hero.  The character design just blows my mind here.  And the lighting is nothing to sneeze at either.  Favorites!

AWESOMMMMME!

He actually does look *very* like a particular australian (my uncle Henry) as well as looking like an australian in general.

The only crit i can offer is: The red areas may be excessively bright and result in a 'noisy' animation. At the least I suggest darkening the red highlights on the more distant leg to improve the depth cues.
