This is a part of what the "main door" of my website will look like. It still has some way to be done tho, but I like how this came out. I included the RPG Maker XP hero Alexis cuz my website will have a lot of stuff concerning RPG/Game Making. It's good, but the characters look like they've just been pasted on there.

Y'know. They're floating, sort of. There needs to be some visible ground beneath their feet.

hmm this is so so good extremely detailed.. Though, "Gates of Oblivion" are red and yellow..

Gates of Oblivion is in a gamed called "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion"

Awesome picture, I'm coding my own RPG engine atm.

I really like the lighting on the background, maybe the lighting needs to be a bit stronger on the characters themselves, a little more contrast. Also maybe make the insides of the cave a little more defined.
Awesome work though, keep it up.

id say tht the positon the characters are in, and how they are facing the gate/cave entrance thing, looks completely off balance they to me look very much out of place, not just the colors, but they look like the should be looking along a iso rpg playing field, this looks too much like a background to a sidescrolling game, so i would say changing that.

Teej covered most of what i was going to say; the other thing is that it reminds me very much of a sequence from one of the Narnia movies, where the camera spirals down past the multiple layers of the earth's crust.
The reason for this is that your lines are pointing along each surface as though it were face-on to the viewer.
In fact, if you change most of the lighting to point towards the top-right 'corner' of his hair, that should work much better.

You are also losing out on impression of depth slightly cause your estimate of light occlusion (diminishing of light level by partial obscuration of the light source) is impossibly conservative. once you correct the perspective, this should just fall into
place.

that background is just phenomenal! I think the highlights on Alexis could be a bit more of that aqua blue colour though. Nice work nonetheless
