Thanks for the replies. Hm, I didn't want to use more colors for the AA, but I think that's the only way I could do on outfit, so maybe I'll have to add more colors. While I can't make decent hands I'll have to leave anyway.
I tried to make the same position that I was in the mirror, and resulted in this: Link
Anytime I'll try to fix everything is wrong now. Thx
I prefer the blue version, he looks more like a grim wizard on serious business. I see you made the effort to shift hues and saturation between colors, you could take it further.
I agree with Gecimen: the shading on the hat is good and indicates a light source, not so elsewhere.
Yes, the hands are weird! Mostly that's no way to hold a staff: the thumb should be in front not behind. You have the best of refs available: your own hands! Look at yourself in the mirror, sketch what you see, don't try to cram in forcefully what you know is there but just the main points of what you see. The general shape is more important than each finger. Also make the staff longer so it touches the ground, otherwise the gesture makes no sense.
White in the eyes would gain by being replaced by the lightest blue or grey, maybe in somewhat darker orbits.
My advice would be; Erase all the shading on the robe and arms. Apply the darkest color first, then others. Also search the forum for antialiasing examples.
Thanks. The wizard of the Trine is just a coincidence, I didn't know him before you speak. Hah. So... the stick was the last thing I did, and I really didn't have much patience to create it. I'll try to fix it anytime. Tried to use a blue pallete, resulted in this: Link
I was in doubt which one was better, but still prefer the purple (personal opinion, of course). And don't be shy, English isn't my native language too.
Looks like the wizard from Trine, doesnt it? Were you inspired by the wizard or is it just quincidence? Anyway, I like the work but that stick appears to me as some floppy worm. Its not very well shaded and is propably too short and S-shaped. Coloring that outfit with light blue would make it look awesome. Theres nothing wrong with purple, I just said my opinion...
Pardon my english, it might be tough to read. Im from Finland, so some typos might occur... SRY.
I improved this. ;)
