well that's the second time my recent work has been compared to big brother's, so you might be on to something. our styles must be converging (or I've been subconsciously copying him :O )
when I saw this, I could've sworn it was by big brother, that is a compliment. It is really nice.

Wow, this challenge certainly has ignited some good ideas from you. All you need now is a third one so you can claim a monopoly of all three ribbons.

Edit: Erp, anyway, I just want to mention that these are some great characters and I think you did an amazing job with the colours (both your colour choices and your ability to work within the restriction).
